CivicMSP history

CivicMSP started out as a business unit of Televon and has grown, since 2020, into a full-service IT Management company. This growth is a reaction to the realities of our clients and the broader IT Management market which has struggled with the dual threats of expanding complexity of IT (hybrid cloud, hyper converged environments, exponential cyber security learning curves, etc.) and an inability to retain solid talent.

Beyond the macro-IT environmental issues facing our clients, the establishment of CivicMSP is a statement about the deplorable service and operations standards in the IT Management services industry itself. Time and again we have seen horrible user support, non-adherence to IT Management processes, holes in security profiles, and disregard for basic backup and disaster recovery standards.

Hence, we launched CivicMSP. An IT Services Company dedicated to four major pillars of IT Service Management (ITSM).

An organization is only as good as the capabilities of its people. But in today’s world an employee’s capability is directly tied to their IT systems. If things aren’t working as intended it is super frustrating, costly, and in certain settings (emergency service, police, and healthcare) potentially life threatening. This is why CivicMSP is hyper focused on delivering top quality IT Helpdesk and User Support Services. We do this through a 24/7 dedicated team of in-house team members who are vetted, trained and enabled to deliver actual user support on the first call.

Highly Available Systems

You can’t have functioning user equipment, but inaccessible networks, data and applications. A close cousin to User Support and Service is Network Availability and Connectivity. This goes beyond simply monitoring network performance and addressing outages. CivicMSP believes your datacenter and network should be configured and optimized to ensure users can access what they need, when they need it, wherever they are.

Threat Resiliency and Recovery

Cyber security threat management is table stakes now. At CivicMSP we believe your IT environment (network, datacenter, endpoints, and user training) should be designed with a dual purpose in mind - eliminate unnecessary risks while assuming a failure is imminent. At any given time, you could be hacked, a critical piece of equipment could fail, a service provider may have an outage, or an employee with critical knowledge may leave. If you work with CivicMSP, these won’t cripple your operations.

Practical Budget Management

IT systems are like any other depreciating asset. They need maintenance and will require replacement, ideally before they break. That doesn’t mean IT needs to bust the budget. You likely don’t need a multimillion-dollar hyper converged IT stack, nor do you need a complete Network redesign. CivicMSP looks at what you have, works with you on what you need, want, and can live without, and then helps build a short-term and long-term plan and budget to get there.
